CraftFest held at Shongweni Farmers and Craft Market in partnership with The Independent on Saturday on April 30 saw the morning start with some misty rain, but the sun soon peeked out for a glorious day. Crowds of locals and upcountry visitors enjoyed the relaxed country vibe along with fab food and some of the trendiest drinks around town, while there were crafty bargains aplenty for those who love to browse.

Local breweries and distilleries featured prominently in the mix with Durban represented by ClockWork Brewery, the Standeaven Brewery, BruBros, the 1000 Hills Brewery, That Brewing Co and Duban Home Brewers. Gins rums and designer cocktails completed the picture.

It was a fun day for the whole family and while the adults chilled with their favourite tipple, the kids had fun on the Disco ball and climbing wall or on slides and merry go rounds. A lego tent, and face painting completed the picture.

Catch the new relaxed day of country fun with CraftFest on August 9.
